The Norwegian government are refusing to send Norwegian soldiers to the hostile southern parts of Afghanistan. Our foreign minister (Fucking arrogant dickhead and tail wagging poodle) Jonas Gahr Støre, informed the Norwegian press earlier today that Norway has no intentions of fulfilling their obligations as a NATO member, and ship “young Norwegian boys” off to war (the Taliban might just take a shot at them). However, the Norwegian government have no qualms about young Americans, English, Australians, Canadians and New Zealanders paying the ultimate prize.This is nothing but outrageous. Norway has over the years enjoyed all the benefits of a NATO membership, and especially during the cold war era when this membership helped deter the Commies from invading the country. But this seems to be water under the bridge. What our government is saying here is that we only want to enjoy the benefits of such a membership and not having to fulfill our obligations.

This is typical of these ingrates. A couple of years back, Canada was asked to contribute to North America's missle defense (as usual) but refused.
They knew the US would protect their sorry asses even if they don't contribute. Have somebody else pay for it! The mindset of a socialist.

Mr. Neid: You are absolutely correct in thinking that Norway has well-trained special forces. In fact, they have already extensively served in combat with distinction in Afghanistan, and the current debate in the Norwegian parliament (which is still ongoing, by the way), is over whether they shall return. They were well-regarded by NATO higher-ups over there, and played - like the Canadian special forces serving in the same country - an important role in clandestine operations whose import and value has never been fully revealed to the public.

The sad thing is that by not sending troops to the fight down south they endanger more lives than if they did, both native and coalition. In response to Talnik, Canada was asked to contribute to the USA's missile defence plan. Canada, Canadians, and the Canadian government then and now did not believe in the American's missile defence system, and that is why Canada said no. Canada does not believe in the militarisation of space.

Canada and Western Europe (especially) have enjoyed an unprecedented period of peace due to US military might. There is a mindset among the young that there always was peace, and there will always be peace, and no-one has to sacrifice anything for it, not even money.

I have empathy for you...for years under our previous Canadian socialist government we were in the same situation; its only now that we can hold our heads up and boast that we are actually pulling our weight. In 2003, a US Patriot missile shot down a British RAF Tornado killing the pilot and navigator (Those Muslim extremists, flying around in Tornado bombers again, eh?). In 2005, a US soldier shot and killed an Italian intelligence officer ("Spiacente, sono Americano!"). In 2005, US troops opened fire on a Bulgarian convoy (At this point, i'm just shaking my head in disbelief... ). In 2006, A U.S. soldier shot from behind and killed a Canadian soldier (That's just cowardly!). So far in 2007, US forces have killed seven US/UK trained and equipped Afghanistan police officers and eight Kurdish Iraqi soldiers...
