Norwegian TV Channel TV 2 will show Mohammad cartoons.

(VG Nett) This coming Monday the controversial Mohammad cartoons will be shown on Norwegian TV screens for the very first time.

Yesterday it was exactly one year ago since the controversial cartoons was published in Danish newspaper Jyllands Posten, an act that caused outrage in the Muslim world.

When TV 2 air the documentary “threatened to silence” this coming Monday the controversial cartoons will once again be shown according to Nettavisen.

Will strengthen freedom of speech.

The journalist behind the documentary, Per Christian Magnus, believes that showing the cartoons will help strengthen freedom of speech.

- I believe this is a very important act in the fight for freedom of speech. I can personally vouch for the finished product, and I guarantee that only journalistic considerations has been taken into account when considering what’s going to be shown and what’s not.

At the same time Magnus stress that not showing the cartoons will only censor the story behind the Mohammad cartoons itself.

The reason why we made “threatened to silence” in the first place was to illustrate what the conflict was all about.

UPDATE!!

The Norwegian Foreign Department has notified all Norwegian embassies in the Muslim world, that TV2 will show the controversial cartoons tonight.

This is going to be very interesting.

I just wish that at least ONE of our many broadcasting companies here in the US has the guts/balls to do this and stand up for freedom of expression.

That's great! Can hardly wait to hear what happens..

btw, FOX News showed the cartoons several times that I personally saw. The one with Mo and his two wives with the green background and his eyes blocked out. They also showed the bomb on the head. It just doesn't get much attention here... Everyone gets insulted in one way or another here. Personally, I like to "stare" at the mussies who dare to wear burkas in public. It's not much, but every little bit helps. Walk tall and carry a big stick!

You go NORWAY!

You live on in the spirit of "The Ghost Train". I have always had a personal admiration for the people of the Netherlands and the Phillipinos for their widespread bavery and selflessness during WW2.
I don't know when the world will come awake to the danger we face today. Let us hope it is in time.
Sir, this is a brave step forward

How come every time you say the word 'muslim', you have to use white gloves. But when they use effegies, and burn the cross, there's no problem? They preach hate in mosques, and actually teach their youth bigotry in state sponsored schools, but we can't even draw a cartoon.

I think every child in school should be made draw a cartoon of Mohammed in the interests of free speech.

Well done Norway it's about time somebody in Europe stood up for our values.

We should all organise a Crusade weekend this year to support democracy and condemn theocracy.

"No sharia here" should be the cry

Muslims insist they have the right to express their freedom of speech, burn Americans flags, protest in London treatening Brits that their 911 is coming if they do not respect them....while Christians are put down, stopped, not allowed to express themselves in the good old' USA... while Bibles get burned in Saudia Arabia!

What would happen if we burned the Koran in the States or took them from Muslims and punished them for having them and publically burned them? That is what has happened in the Middle East. Something is wrong with the whole picture.

By the way, my wife is Norwiegen!!!

Hey guys,
do you think this is really a freedom of speech. Maybe you need a course on democracy and liberity. I think you fon not have any idea about them.
You have no problem making cartoon for God and Jesus. But believe me we hate to look on your cartoon that you made for Jesus. Because we think this is a disrespectful act to him

The fact that Christians even make cartoons of their own Prophet Jesus and of God is not liked by Muslims. This is because they have immense respect for you religion. I myself have frowned upon SouthPark and the Simpsons many times.
Those who do burn down the bible can not be called Muslims as our religion is all about tolerance and peace. these few individuals give a bad name to Islam and to many of the trye Muslims who would never do such a thing. The Muslim image all over the world has been tarnished because of the actions of these few misinformed, ignorant people.I hope one day there will be a world where Chrisitians and Muslims can live in peace without one doing anything ( such as printing derogatory cartoons or burning the Bible) to provoke the other
