They did it !!

Well it finally happened! They showed the cartoons that caused such rage amongst “tolerant” and “peace loving” muslims all over the globe.

If someone had told me a week ago that a Norwegian TV channel would go to this courageous step, my first reaction would probably be to give them an overbearing smile and a light shake of the head. Norwegian mainstream media is 90 percent left wing and they normally do everything in their power to please and appease members of the “tolerant” religion. But hey, in this case I was wrong, and to tell you the truth, nothing makes me happier.

The next couple of days will show us what kind of reaction we can expect to see this time. Will our pathetic excuse for a prime minister once again get down on his knees and lick muslim boots or will he show some spine and stay out of it?

Will the muslims go ballistic like they did last time? I think we’ll get a reaction that’s identical to the one we saw last winter, a full scale confrontation between the muslim and the western civilization.

Only difference is that this time the west needs to stand their ground and not back down.

Best part: When Abu Laban said: "If I must accept humilliation, I´ll leave this country!!!". You know, shouting and gesticulating. What a pathetic creature...

I think you will be disappointed in the reaction from Islam.
We've had rage after rage, on and on. After they pay off the indignant crowds and put the signs and banners away for another day they need a little break.
I think they are coming to realize that all their rages aren't going to work.
On the MSM-yes ... Everyone else-No

As a Norwegian living abroad, this is the first time I'm proud to be a Norwegian in about a year.
PS great site.
PPS I haven't voted in a Norwegian election in 20 years, but next time I damn well will, and a little bird is telling me it won't be for anyone left of center

William,

I'll be surprised if the Muslims do start off violent protests, but the reason is simply timing. These 'sudden' protests are not so sudden and are timed when the people setting them off want to set them off. The violent protests over the Danish cartoons did not start at the time they were published, but rather two months later, at the opportune time when Muslim countries all over the world had to show that they still care about Islam. What a coincidence!

But, don't worry. This can always be used to explain future terror attacks (such as that unsuccessful one in Germany) and everybody will forget that terrorists had already planned such attacks before the cartoons and will continue to do so after.

Finally - in case Norwegians missed it.. the cartoons already appeared in a Norwegian magazine shortly after they were published in Demmark. That was enough of a reason to have Norwegian embassies attacked (see Damascus). And if it wouldn't have been, Norway really is close to Denmark and is guilty by association, don't you think? They're all Scandivanians up there anyway, no? Besides, it's fun to burn flags with crosses on them.

For anybody who needs a reminder that Norway deserves death, a Norwegian flag being burned before the cartoons were published on TV.

I am afraid that it will take a few weeks (after the BBC and other media would have reported the fact to their muslim viewers) to happen. But BRAVO for the courage. Time someone stand up and show leadership...

My all-time favorite is D.T Devareaux depiction at

http://thestudyofrevenge.blogspot.com/2006/01/portrait-of-prophet-muhammad.html

The Danish cartoons were mild in comparison. D.T.D. shows Mo as a Satanic monster. The violated little girl is Ayesha, Mohammed's child sex-slave, who he 'thighed' from the age of six until she was nine, when he raped her.

I hope someone captured it and encoded it to XviD and released it on PirateBay or something. That would make my day :)

I believe it is a big mistake to think that muslims = terrorists.. Before judging anything, we should look at what US is doing in East although it is none of his business. I am also a muslim living in Belgium for more than 2 years and working as a research engineer who only wants a peaceful world in which every country only deals with internal issues other than making others die or suffer. Personally, I do not care about the cartoons because they do not mean anything to me. It seemed to me also not meaningful that you people really care about them and be proud of them. How sad! Why do people hate each other? Who makes this? Please try to realize the facts behind the scene..

Religion poisons everything, Men have to grow out of it for the building of a healthy society. I applaud what Norway did, there should not be any sacredness value attach to something that will make our discourse impossible to conduct, thats free speech at its best.
